Don Higgins Realty Gives Back
The North Shore Animal League America (NSALA) of Port Washington recently received a donation check for $1,520 from Don Higgins Realty (“DHR”) through their unique, “We Give Back 10%” donation program.
The way it works is simple; when a client buys or sells their home through DHR, DHR donates 10% of the resulting commission to whichever local, participating charity that client chooses.
As a local ‘Mom and Pop’ business, DHR’s founder, Don Higgins says he “…felt it was important to create a philanthropic outlet in which DHR’s success would result in continuous, ongoing support of locally significant charities.”
“We’ve aligned ourselves with a cross-section of charities that are both Manhasset/Port Washington and North Fork specific, as these are the areas in which we are the most active” explains Devon Higgins. Donations are made on a transactional basis and per the NYS Attorney General’s office DHR will be requires submit yearly accountings on all donations made.
“The feedback, so far, has been tremendous; clients seem really happy to see their real estate transaction result in a donation to a local charity they really care about” said Devon Higgins.

DHR Gives Back $2,498 to the Life Enrichment Center
The Life Enrichment Center recently received a donation in the amount of $2,498 through the Don Higgins Realty’s (DHR) unique 10% Give Back program.
The program was developed by DHR,and is a charitable and selfless way for corporations to give back to those in need.
In order to participate in the 10% Give Back program, you must list your home for sale, or purchase a home through DHR, and the realty team will donate 10% of every commission dollar received. There is absolutely no cost to the seller or buyer.
Locust Valley resident and DHR salesperson Matt McGarry recommended the Life Enrichment Center as one of the eight charities to benefit from the 10% Give Back program. “The Center is vital to our community and its continued success is important to all of us,” McGarry said. “We’re glad we can do what we can.”
